Introduction to NEA Short Film

The main features addressed within a short film are:

• Narrative conventions (for example, the three act structure- 'The Set-Up', 'Entering A Point of No Return', and 'The Tie-Up/Resolution)
• How dramatic qualities are constructed (for example, through dialogue) to create and maintain interest
• How messages and values are conveyed to create depth within the narrative
• How narrative is used to create different POVs
